I started my FASD diagnosis journey with my little one last year with Dr Takon.
I didn’t realise how long the process took! I’m a single foster carer to a 13 year old with SEN. One of their siblings has already been diagnosed with FASD, but this alone isn’t enough to diagnose mine. Social Services have extensively combed through many documents and notes to see if there is any evidence. To my delight my child’s social worker found evidence, however it turned out to be circumstantial evidence – not enough for a diagnosis.
Back to square one for now!
